Anti-Jealousy Month

Long and hard have we at Sopef fought against the ravages of that ruinous emotion known as jealousy. We have called it “poisoner of relationships”, “corrupter of the soul”, the “bane of all womanhood”, and “the worst sin of lovers”. So high is it on our agenda that last year, we officially declared April to be Anti-Jealousy Month and inaugurated its observance with a Rachel K. [] rant Against Jealousy.
This year, we shall be increasing the volume. April 2005 thus shall see publications exploring the wrongness of jealousy as well as more-constructive ways to build relationships, to increase honesty, to found trust. In the same time, we shall reflect on ourselves and examine the ways that jealousy can be exorcised from our beings. We ask our readers to join us in this observance both in their lives and in their writings; and we invite those taking up the issue on their own websites to send us links so that we can post weekly updates on what others are saying. At our editorial discretion, we shall list both supporting and dissenting views; we deem it important to stimulate public discussion over an ailment common to most humans, yet seldom approached with calm and open discourse.
Of course, though the thoughtful method is vital to solution, Anti-Jealousy Month need not be only a time of serious scholarship. It is, after all, a fine month of spring in the northern hemisphere and of autumn in the southern; and thus, it is a fine season as ever for the praxis of sexual adventure. Yield to the lusts of a ménage à trois, particularly if you have not done so before; try a larger orgy if you have both the daring and the good company. Open up a monogamous relationship to some varietal experiments. Be bold; fly free! Fear not to strive for hidden potential, as every moment of life, every opportunity for a connection, is far too precious to waste to wistful regrets of unfulfillment. And mayhap by the time that fecund May does soon come to us, your worldview of relationships and jealousy will shift naturally to a more liberating perspective.
Yes, this announcement is scheduled for April 2 in order to avoid any PR confusion precipitated by a certain holiday popular on the Internet.
